About Daniel
I am an electric guitarist, composer of alternative rock, flugel horn player, singer/songwriter.
Recently I have written and recorded an album in my home studio on Skye that you can listen to here:
(concealed information)
I sang in the Halle of Manchester Choir for a while. It gave me a level of expectation for my musicality. I am classically trained, but that is really only a way to describe music (the universal language).
I started out playing right-handed and made the switch to left-handed in 2003. I simply play more naturally now, but having the comparison of left-and right handed is an advantage passed on to the student.
I have completely retrained all my muscle memory and can show you how the musical mind works.

Home recording helps bring ideas to life even if you're not a good musician.
But how about the idea that someone else pressed record and you simply perform?
I have written a teaching manual that can help train muscle memory.
Much of the work behind musical performance is related to economy of movement and approach ear training in a similar fashion.
Routine-wise you want to change things up.
Also you want to be able to play in a linear, even style unless otherwise instructed to play accents.
Learning over skype will require a little bit of technical knowledge.
Or you could just video call me on your mobile if you have an acoustic or classical. You should test how well mic'ing a guitar amp works across a mobile network/internet. ~(You will have one ear in the headphones to hear me)~
I am going to suggest, to avoid any technical hitches that you set Skype settings to usb soundcard. A decent budget 2 channel soundcard will set you back about £50. Plug in a microphone and your guitar (via effects pedals if you like) and select the usb device in Skype settings.
Virtual amp modelling software is an option but the key thing is that in not using your amp (just for the lesson) the mobile phone/internet signal is not interrupting the sound of your playing.
Also, the hardware will assist you in home recording.
