About Leigh
Since 2008 I've run my own independent studio practice, taking artwork from first concept through to finished, exhibited pieces, and I regularly attend exhibitions to stay closely connected to the wider art world. I currently teach weekly portrait drawing and painting classes for adult learners.
I take real pride in creating a supportive, encouraging environment where students can build genuine confidence, giving clear, constructive feedback and adjusting my approach to help each person progress at their own pace.
Whether you're picking up a pencil for the first time or looking to develop existing skills, I'll bring the same care, patience and attention to detail to helping you grow as an artist.

I have over ten years' experience as a professional figurative artist, working across oil, watercolour, acrylic, charcoal and pencil, and I've been teaching adult drawing and painting classes at the Westway Trust in London. I trained at Camberwell College of Arts (BA Hons Illustration) before completing a Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Drawing School, one of the country's leading institutions for observational drawing.
I offer lessons in drawing and painting. My lessons are built around observational drawing and painting, primarily working from life, whether that's a portrait, a figure or still life. I provide individual guidance and honest, constructive feedback. I'll also introduce you to different materials and techniques as you progress, and help you build the confidence to make your own decisions on the page.
Lessons typically run for 2 hours and I adapt the pace and content to each student. My classes are for adult learners of any level, from complete beginners who've never drawn or painted before, to more experienced artists wanting to sharpen their technique.
