About Ruth
I'm Ruth, a passionate and dedicated creative practitioner who believes deeply in the power of art to break down barriers and inspire positive social change. As someone who is neurodivergent, I bring a unique perspective to my practice—one that values difference, champions accessibility, and encourages everyone to find their own voice through creativity. My experience spans working with people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds—from leading art sessions in dementia care settings to collaborating on school and community projects, and curating exhibitions focused on mental health awareness. These experiences have shaped my inclusive, empathetic, and hands-on approach to teaching. You can expect a welcoming, respectful, and professionally structured space where you’re supported to express yourself freely and confidently. I’m here to help you develop your skills, explore new ideas, and grow creatively—regardless of where you're starting from. I look forward to working with you!

I’m a person-centred teacher and mentor who offers individually tailored sessions designed to meet each student’s unique needs and goals. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your practice, I create a supportive, empowering environment that nurtures confidence, builds skills, and opens up new ways of working. My approach blends mentorship and coaching, with flexible formats that range from one-off sessions to ongoing weekly support. Together, we shape each session around what’s most relevant to you—whether that’s portfolio development, project management, applying for grants or institutions, or preparing for exhibitions. With extensive experience in both the arts and broader community engagement, I’m passionate about using creativity to inspire positive change. I’ve led inclusive projects in care homes, schools, and local communities, and curated exhibitions focused on mental health and accessibility. I believe art should be for everyone—and I’m here to help you realise your potential.
