About NJ

I’ve been providing musical services to the music community since 1991. I’m a second generation, collegiate level classically trained musician. I've done over 1,000 professional performances covering a wide range of styles and I've personally taught over 20,000 lessons.

I’ve had many musical jobs in addition to performing over 1000 professional gigs and teaching 20,000 lessons – I’ve taught for several music schools, one of which was a very large multi-state school where I was recognized as being one of the top few teachers out of their faculty of over 100. I’ve also managed a music school, owned a recording studio, managed a music store, worked as an instrument repair tech, served as a head sound tech for concerts and plays, I even have experience as a broadcast DJ.

I presently own NJ Music which offers lessons, individual and band/ensemble coaching services and live and studio performance. I'm also the owner of Indefinite Boundaries Multimedia LLC where I am a content and curriculum creator and I'm also the founder and owner of TRUsician where I'm the webmaster and content creator.

About the lesson

I developed my own specialized T.R.I.A.D. teaching curriculum that focuses on physical, mental and applied skill sets along with my exclusive B.R.I.C.K. learning approach which offers the quickest and most effective way to gain the wide range of skills required for musical success. I've also developed my unique K.I.D.S. curriculum designed specifically for kids that yields great results with less practice required than conventional teaching curricula. As the parent of a growing musician myself, I know the value of this aspect!

I can help you learn from the very beginning or take you to the next level if you have prior experience. I can help you learn songs faster and better, get in (or start) a band, write your own music, improvise, get and prepare for gigs, the sky is the limit!

I can also help you develop important academic skills such as reading music notation, knowledge of musical vocabulary, development and application of proper practice skills, music theory and more. I also specialize in performance, audition and exam preparation (i.e. ABRSM and Trinity) which covers everything from preparation basics, to exam and audition simulations which helps to provide the absolute best preparation experience possible.

I’ll explain every aspect in detail as well as provide easy-to-follow diagrams to use for practice and I always provide a written practice sheet after each lesson that recaps what we covered so you'll know exactly what and how (even how much) to practice!

Step 1: I provide a complete assessment of the student's prior knowledge and skills.

Step 2: I develop a customized learning plan based on my T.R.I.A.D. teaching curriculum designed specifically to meet each student's individual goals and needs.

Step 3: I provide a fun and easy learning experience featuring my B.R.I.C.K. learning approach which yields great results quickly and effectively. I provide all necessary information as well as the practical application of the information to real musical situations.

I have employed this structured, highly efficient approach for decades and it yields great results for all ages and experience levels.
