About Alam

Hi, I`m Alam. I`m currently a first year Dental student at Plovdiv Medical University in Bulgaria. I did, however, grow up and study up until A level in the UK, so I am very familiar with the UK education system. Having been a struggling student myself, I know how overwhelming it can be when you just can`t grasp certain aspects of your subject. I know how difficult it can be to find the motivation to study when you feel like you`ve already failed, but trust me you can always turn it around. In my first year of college especially, I found it incredibly difficult to motivate myself, and this translated to my end of year mocks, where I achieved grades of DDC. For a while I felt like I had failed already and it was too late, however with enough work and dedication I managed to turn it around to achieve AAA in my A levels. The hardest thing for me was not having any structure, and having to figure it all out alone. I hope now through my experience that I can help others in similar situations, so that they have someone there to give them some structure and guidance. My tutoring style is very much tailored specifically to the student`s style, which overall leaves the students much happier. This method of teaching is much more effective than teaching everyone the same way, as everyone learns differently. Whether you`re just looking for ways to obtain marks on the exam, or looking for a better overall understanding of the subject, I can help and guide you through both. I hope that, as a once struggling student myself, I can use the lessons I learnt on this journey to make it a smoother and less stressful journey for others.

About the lesson

I am a firm believer that each person learns differently. Having once been a struggling student myself, I know how difficult it can be to find the right method of learning for yourself. I tried many different ways that worked for other people, but none of them worked for me. It took a long time to find the method that worked for me. That is why I believe that it is very important to adapt my teaching style to the needs and strengths of the student, rather than using a "one size fits all approach". A typical one-hour lesson will consist of going through resources, working at the desired pace of the student, making sure the student understands what we have covered before we move on, and then consolidating that learning with exam board specific questions. My qualifications are as follows: A level Biology - A A level Chemistry - A A level Spanish - A I am currently only teaching up to GCSE, however I plan on expanding to A level.
