About Caroline

Hello all! My name is Caroline and I love the French language. I remember, 5 years ago, I was intrigued by this language that was so hard to pronounce and understand. Now, having spoken for two years with different francophones of different accents who come from different countries, I can debate about religion, science, and math with no problem in French and guide my family through a francophone country with no problem. I am here to share with you strategies to learn French and languages in general as well as what I have learned about French prononciation and grammar. Since I have gone through the process myself, I believe that I know how to teach it. In addition, I have created a channel dedicated to learning French vocabulary, 100 words per day, where people can print flash-cards and listen along to a recording. I am so excited to help you in your French journey!

About the lesson

I want students to fall in love with learning French and to discover French words and grammar in their natural habitat. We will listen and analyse French songs, and learn to understand the local French jargon of France vs. Belgium. I also have a YouTube channel where I post 100 French words a day to expand your vocabulary with flashcards ready-made to be printed. The idea is to involve all the senses in learning a language--sight, hearing, and speaking. You listen to the pronunciation of words and then, you print them as flash-cards. I recently went to Quebec to take my own photos of the local French road signs, and compiled these words with their images as flash-cards. I want you to learn French as if you are in France already, through immersion. If you are someone seeking to improve general understanding of French, are in high school taking a French course, or would like to increase your French vocabulary while learning the interesting ways French lends itself to English and helps us understand their meaning, I am here for you! In a typical lesson plan, I will introduce new vocabulary each time, usually introduce a French song. We will analyse that song together and you will ask me any questions you have about the meaning. Then, I might ask you to write about your point of view about the song in French. I will tailor my tutoring to your needs and you will tell you what you feel YOU need most work on.
