About Veronika

I have been involved in dance teaching since 2015. Working both independently and alongside other teachers, I have taught ballet and contemporary dance to children, teenagers and adults as well as led dance and creative workshops and choreographed. Whilst at uni, I have made work for stage, film, and outdoor spaces and I also have performed dance pieces for varous artists and stages such as the National Theatre Prague, The Place or Lilian Baylis Theatre in London. Some of the students that I taught in the past have said about me that I am a patient and positive teacher. They found my classes diverse, engaging, and well-composed. They also felt that each student was given space to work according to their own possibilities.

Experience with Mental health, SEN, and complex physical disabilities including spine and brain injuries as part of my ongoing training in Dance Movement Psychotherapy.

About the lesson

I am a dance artist with a passion for helping people feel more at home in their bodies and embrace their unique movement. These individualised dance lessons are designed to support you in discovering a deeper connection with yourself through movement, regardless of your age, background, or dance experience.
Our sessions are designed as a judgment-free safe space where we'll work together to support you in building body confidence, release physical and emotional tension, explore movement that feels authentic to you, and celebrate your individual way of moving. I also offer to teach steps and set choreographies and variations to suit your personal style and expectations.

In these personalised lessons, we can explore different movement styles and improvisational approaches. We'll discover ways to listen to and trust your body, practice techniques that help you feel more comfortable and present in your physical self, and find creative expression through movement. I may also ntroduce breathing techniques that can help you ground and center yourself, creating a holistic approach to feeling more at ease.

Whether you're someone who feels awkward moving, struggles with body image, wants to overcome self-consciousness, or simply wishes to connect with yourself through movement and dance, these lessons are created just for you. My approach draws from professional training in contemporary dance, ballet, and improvisation, but focuses on your personal journey of self-discovery.

The first step is a free, no-pressure consultation where we'll explore your goals, any challenges you're experiencing, and how movement can help you feel more comfortable and confident in your own skin. If you're looking for more technique oriented and structured lessons, do feel free to contact me as well.

Techniques and approaches I can offer help with include: Ballet, Graham, Cunningham, Release, Limon, Flying Low and Passing Through (introduction), Improvisation, Creative Work and Choreography, basic point-work.

Hoiwan was a great person and student to work with. She worked very hard and took notes on board perfectly. Hoiwan and I created jazz and ballet variations together for her MA application and we had a lot of fun. For the future, Hoiwan can develop even further in covering space and dancing with the whole body and really showing herself with confidence. It was a pleasure to work with her and I wish her all the best.
