About Althea
Music connects people through sound and performance. I have taught 403 students over 11 years of dedicated instruction.
My teaching philosophy relies on building strong fundamentals for every individual learner. Sight playing is a core pillar of my curriculum.
Hand independence is essential. Music theory creates a deeper understanding of the keys.
Dynamics and expression define the emotion in a piece. Pedaling technique and memorization techniques are vital tools. Accompaniment skills are the main goal for my singers. You deserve a coach who understands the keyboard from a vocalist perspective.
