Our first tutoring session, I was incredibly nervous and he was able to set me at easy immediately. After our meet session, Patrick had set up a basic plan for me, which not only showed him my skill level, but also allowed him to make any sort of adjustments to the tutoring plan he had created.
After only three sessions, I was already able to understand my assignments a lot more, and able to code small pieces of it. Prior to sessions, I hadn’t been able to write anything outside the basics and fully understand it.
Within the sessions, rather than rushing through questions and trying to answer them all, he helps me understand them and allows me to work on them on my own, before offering his help — this is really good practice, because in an exam or quiz I wouldn’t have the help, and so by making sure I try to answer the question first, he’s helping me gain the confidence that I need.
What I enjoy the most about my tutoring sessions, is that Patrick is always checking in and making sure I understand things: be it the code, or the question, or even unfamiliar words. He’s very patient and is able to answer questions in a straightforward and understandable manner.
