About Kai

1. What Sets Me Apart

Peer-to-Peer Connection:
As a dedicated high school engineering student, I understand current classroom dynamics and curricula. I communicate in an approachable, encouraging way that makes complex topics feel manageable rather than intimidating.

Real-World Skills:
I teach modern software tools and languages (JavaScript, SolidWorks, Autodesk Revit, Adobe Creative Cloud) actually used in STEM industries today.

Proven Academic & Organizational Track Record:
Maintaining a 4.0 GPA while balancing AP coursework, club leadership, and varsity athletics means I don't just teach the material—I also teach students effective time management, organization, and study habits.

1. Teaching Method & Techniques

My approach centers on active, project-based learning. Coming from a hands on engineering background, I don't believe in forcing students to memorize formulas or code snippets without context.

The "Build & Break" Method:
In programming and CAD, the best way to learn is by writing real code, testing it, seeing it fail, and learning how to debug it. I guide students through the logic so they can solve problems independently.

Visual & Practical Analogies:
I connect abstract math and coding concepts to real-world applications—like using video game mechanics to explain physics and logic, or 3D printing to explain geometry.

Scaffolding:
I break complex topics down into small, bite-sized components. Once a foundation is solid, we layer on the next challenge so the student never feels overwhelmed.

2. A Typical 60-Minute Lesson Plan

Every lesson is structured to keep students engaged while ensuring measurable progress:

00:00 – 00:10 | Review & Warm-Up:
We review concepts from the previous session or go over recent homework/test questions to address immediate challenges.

00:10 – 00:30 | Core Concept Breakdown: Introduction of a new topic using interactive tools, live coding, or visual drafting software rather than standard textbook lectures.

00:30 – 00:50 | Guided Practice & Hands-On Building: The student takes the lead! They work through a problem set, build a mini-coding project, or model a CAD design while I offer real-time feedback and guidance.

00:50 – 01:00 | Recap & Action Plan:
We summarize key takeaways, answer any remaining questions, and set clear goals or practice problems for the next session.

3. Who the Lessons Are For

Target Audience: Middle school students through early high school students (Grades 6–10).

Subject Areas:
Math: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Middle School Math.
Computer Science & Coding: Intro to Programming, Logic, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and AP Computer Science Principles prep.
Intro to Engineering & CAD: Basic 3D modeling, SolidWorks concepts, and introductory design logic.

Ideal Student Profile: Perfect for students who want to improve their grades, build confidence in STEM, prepare for advanced high school classes, or start building their own software/engineering side projects.
