About ADITI

I am a Senior Research Fellow at the University of York, with over 15 years of experience in leukaemia research and a PhD from University College London (UCL). I have been working in this field since 2007, with strong expertise in molecular biology, cell biology, and immunology, particularly in acute leukaemia.

My research focuses on novel therapeutic approaches, including oncolytic viruses for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, and on understanding the bone marrow tumour microenvironment in adult acute leukaemia. As part of my current role, I actively train and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students, helping them develop strong conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and confidence in research.

I strongly believe that learning should be fun and concept-driven, not about memorising facts. My teaching style focuses on simplifying complex ideas, building solid foundations, and making science engaging and enjoyable. I’m happy to mentor students interested in biotechnology, biomedical research, cancer biology, and academic careers.

My lessons focus on clear understanding, simplicity, and making learning enjoyable. I strongly believe that science is best learned by understanding concepts rather than memorising facts, and I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, goals, and learning style.

My teaching experience comes from over 16 years at University College London (UCL), where I have taught, tutored, and trained Bachelor’s, Master’s, medical, and PhD students, including supervising summer research projects and training new PhD students in the lab. I now apply this experience in real time in my current role as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of York, where mentoring and teaching remain a core part of my work.

I teach using simple explanations supported by PowerPoint slides, books, and practical examples. For online lessons, I use videos and animations to explain difficult topics in a clear and simplified way. I believe that simplicity is the way forward, especially when tackling complex biological concepts.

I teach GCSE, A-level, and undergraduate biology and chemistry, and offer tailor-made lessons in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, and cancer biology for both school and university students. I am also happy to help anyone who is struggling with a particular concept by breaking it down step by step.

Details

This cost is a guideline, I am happy to discuss a case-by-case scenario, depending on what the student's requirement is and how much time I need to prepare any topic you are interested in. Please message me to discuss this as this is flexible. I have kept the first 30mins free as I am happy to have a free consultation to understand your requirements and whether I can help. We can establish in the 30mins whether you need me and I can help you and then decide whether you want to go ahead and book a lesson.
