About Rachael
Hi! My name is Rachael Lee and I am a senior studying Secondary Education and Biological Sciences. I am a prospective high school biology teacher and am passionate about making learning fun and meaningful! I have definitely been in classes where I felt like I was memorizing facts and forgetting them in a week. While those experiences have sometimes felt unproductive, discouraging, or like a waste of time, my hope is to making learning something that is engaging, exciting, and challenging!
This summer I will be interning at the Smithsonian Science Center and designing educational science curriculum. I am also the Vice President of Vanderbilt Programming Board, which plans large-scale events for our students. And when I am not studying for classes or participating in student organizations, I enjoy playing pickleball and watching movies!

Hi! As a current senior at Vanderbilt University studying Secondary Education, I have done coursework ranging from the social implications of education to how to design an interactive and meaningful lesson plan. After I graduate, I plan on becoming a high school biology teacher and would love to work with you to build your confidence and skills in English!
With past students, I formulate my approach based on what you feel you struggle with most. We all have areas where we do not feel confident in, which causes us to shy away from challenges and dislike the subject. As your tutor, I will work with you to reframe the way you think and make the material more approachable and engaging. I encourage questions, curiosity, and all sources of knowledge! Each student is unique and I hope to give them opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and capabilities.
As we continue to meet, I will be sure to review past content, assign relevant homework, and engrain your interests into my lessons. I appreciate feedback as well and we can adjust the trajectory and organization of lessons as necessary.
