About Ibrahim
Playing against Teimour Radjabov (world #38) was humbling. Getting crushed by someone that skilled taught me more about chess in two hours than months of studying theory. Now I bring that same intensity and insight to every lesson, minus the intimidation factor. As an economics and politics student, I see chess everywhere. Electoral strategy, market timing, resource wars are all about pattern recognition and calculated risk. But here’s what really clicks: I can explain why a pawn push feels like a policy decision, or how controlling the center mirrors territorial politics. My students love these connections because they make abstract concepts stick. What gets me excited is watching someone discover their first tactical pattern or finally “see” why a quiet move is brilliant. I’ve had friends text me screenshots of games they won using strategies we worked on. That moment when chess stops feeling random and starts making sense? That’s what I live for as a teacher. I’m not trying to create the next Magnus Carlsen. I’m here to help you fall in love with the game the way I did—through understanding, not memorization.
