About Amy

For my GCSEs I achieved all A*s and right now I am an aspiring medical student, and I’m studying Biology, Chemistry, and Maths for my A Levels. But I’d be more than happy to help anyone preparing for their GCSEs or any other exams leading up to A Levels. However, I am particularly confident with the IGCSE Edexcel Biology syllabus. My goal is to make students feel more confident in what they’re learning and help them realise that they can achieve more than they might think.

About the lesson

I’m a big believer in the idea that everybody has the potential to achieve top grades in any subject, no matter their current ability. In my lessons, I will aim to pinpoint any areas which a student may be struggling and help them build a deeper understanding for key concepts, which will help set them up for success. I’ve been tutoring as part of a Refugee Tutoring programme for just under a year now, which has taught me a lot about how to make learning engaging and accessible for all kinds of students. It’s been a really rewarding experience so far, and I’ve learnt a lot about the importance of patience and adaptability in teaching. Additionally, I make sure to pre-plan my lessons based upon the students' weakest topics and I set weekly homework, which are combinations of weaker topics and key exam questions from past papers.
