About PJ

Hi! I'm PJ, a professional Software Engineer and BSc Computer Science graduate from Stellenbosch University.

I know first-hand how challenging Computer Science and Mathematics can be. During my studies, I learned that success isn't about memorising content—it's about truly understanding the underlying concepts. That's exactly how I teach.

My lessons are interactive, practical, and tailored to your learning style. Rather than simply showing you the answers, I'll help you develop the problem-solving mindset needed to tackle assignments, exams, and real-world programming challenges with confidence.

Alongside tutoring, I work professionally as a Software Engineer, building AI-powered applications, scalable backend systems, APIs, and modern web applications. This allows me to combine academic knowledge with real industry experience, giving students practical insights that go beyond the classroom.

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, which is why I tailor each lesson to your individual needs, goals, and pace. Whether you're learning to code for the first time, struggling with a university module, or aiming for top marks, I'll adapt my teaching style to help you succeed.

My lessons are highly interactive. Rather than simply giving you the answers, I'll guide you through the reasoning and problem-solving process so that you develop the confidence to solve similar problems independently. I believe true understanding comes from asking questions, exploring concepts together, and applying knowledge through practical examples.

For programming subjects, we'll write code together, debug real examples, discuss best practices, and work through assignments or projects. For mathematics, I'll break complex concepts into manageable steps before working through progressively more challenging problems.
