I have a Master's degree from the University of Michigan in Computer Science, and work as a Senior Product Manager in a global company. I enjoy teaching math, and also interacting with various age groups from elementary all the way up to high school seniors.

I understand that teaching any topic cannot be a one size fits all approach. Each student or a group of students have a unique background, certain set of challenges, and I like to tailor my approach accordingly. Establishing trust, and building confidence and positivity are key. Finding the bottleneck, where exactly is it that each student is hitting a wall is the next step. This knowledge, combined with my expertise in the subject, helps me not only the deliver the content, but also help my students get that 'Yes, I can do this!' attitude.
A typical class would start with me explaining the topic at hand, with an example of a real life application to spark the student's interest, and then proceed to problem solving. I will work out a couple examples with tips and tricks, then ask the student to work out a few examples until they feel confident. If time permits, we may do a mini test, so the students feel confident about test taking as well.
