About Amir
"The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute; the man who does not ask is a fool for life."
I cannot count the number of times that I have been approached by my peers throughout my entire academic career and asked for help in math because of how many of my peers find it difficult and how often I excel in the subject. Not once have I judged them for this decision.
I have helped many people throughout my years both professionally as a peer-tutor and casually as a friend. I have had tutors before and I know how useful they can be and also what pitfalls they can fall into.
The bottom line is that I love teaching things to other people and have done it many times before with higher and higher success with each passing year. Before you stands a battle-tested tutor with techniques that I am more than happy to bring to you!

I know many students try to approach math from the perspective of rote memorization of formulas, but a lot of concepts in math are actually really intuitive if you focus on conceptual understanding. This is what helps you a lot in more advanced math classes.
A typical lesson will involve taking concepts that the student already understands, and then putting them together in a way to make them understand the targeted concept. This builds the intuition blocks that we want to keep building off of as we progress through a course.
My teaching style is very visual and example driven, since a combination of those two is really helpful in mapping out more abstract concepts (most textbooks in advanced math courses use this same technique for the same reason).
These are useful for anyone in my target audience, from middle schoolers to first year undergrad students.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
Amir is one of the smartest people I have met in my year at the University of Guelph, and he is always willing to help out when people come up to him looking for guidance. He not only has the grades to prove he knows math on a deeper level, he also has a way with words that make it possible for anyone to understand complex math terminology in a way they can understand. I couldn't recommend anyone more than Amir if your looking for help when it comes to math.
Amir is a man I’ve known since the start of high-school. He’s the smartest man I know but he puts the work in to live up to that title. If someone needs a tutor there is no doubt in my mind Amir is the perfect fit.
I went to high school with Amir. He is non-judgmental, kind, and very helpful. I remember asking him for help on a few mixed circuit problems and he explained the concepts to me thoroughly and with patience. I would definitely recommend him if you are looking for a tutor.
Amir is a very good friend of mine, and I have the pleasure of knowing him personally.
He’s really patient, supportive and nice and is very good at explaining things in an easy way.
From my experience from knowing Amir in school he’s always reliable and always willing to help.
Great and cool dude definitely recommend. As a classmate of Amir, I can confidently say that he's one of the most helpful people I know when it comes to technology and math! He helped tutor me with some calculus and linear algebra topics online :)
I know Amir from university, and he’s genuinely such a kind and approachable person. He does really well academically and has a great way of making difficult subjects easier to understand. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone looking for some extra support in math!
Amir is a great tutor with a lot of experience in Math. He helped me a lot in calculus and helped me understand the more complex topics in nicer, compact, understandable ways!
He's my friend.
He's pretty smart, but he's gold in league...
Very passionate about learning and loves to talk about his progress with his friends.
Very good at tutoring, helps his friends when they have trouble with something.
Very nice guy, but turns into a monster on league...I know Amir from class, and he is a great tutor! He helped me a lot with my Data Structures class, especially when I was struggling to understand certain concepts. He prepared me for Midterms and exams which was great. What I appreciate most about his teaching is how patient he is and how he takes the time to explain things clearly, step by step, rather than rushing through topics. We spent time going over a bunch of challenging Data Structures concepts together, and he guided me through practice problems to help me better understand the material. He is supportive, and genuinely cares about helping students improve. I would definitely recommend Amir to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and reliable tutor!
