About Natalia

I am a caring and engaged teacher with 7+ years of experience as a professional tutor. I am passionate about teaching because I love to learn and I find myself learning with my students. I am a dedicated student myself, having just graduated from my MA, and I have received help from tutors in the past, so I understand the importance of this work. I have tutored several students for over a year and have been able to see them grow and develop confidence over our sessions. I believe tutoring is best delivered by developing a trusted relationship with the student and consistently exchanging feedback in order to centre their needs. I will create my lessons with your personal interests in mind so that they will be interesting while also tackling your learning challenges.

About the lesson

My lessons are typically 60 minutes long, with a mix of writing and reading exercises. We often work through a range of literary texts and novels offered in the UK curriculum, by creating a master document of all the relevant information (including themes, characters, plot summary, etc.). I also incorporate writing sessions for essay practice and editing skills. We also may analyse the language used in media related to pop culture and current events, depending on the interests of the student. I encourage students to develop some cumulative tools along the way, such as lists of vocabulary and literary devices. My lessons are for all levels/ages and I work closely with the student to develop a plan based on their needs. I have more than 7 years of experience as a tutor in many different contexts, such as in-person agencies, group lessons, adult lessons, examination prep, and independent tutoring. I have experience working with children who experience learning difficulties.
