About Carmen
Hello, I was born in Mexico City and lived there for 27 years.
During that period I got my Preparatory Diploma in the Health Sciences. I also got my Certificate as a Bilingual Executive Assistant in Spanish and English languages with Honours in 1st Place. Additionally, I worked for a well known private industrial company for five years and held various bilingual positions.
I registered in various English programs at Harmon Hall, a top private English School in Mexico and received various certificates in the English language (advanced level). I was a private Spanish teacher offering one on one tutoring.
I moved to Canada in 1990 and worked for Toronto Community Housing where the Board Members elected me to be a Spanish translator. I worked for various provincial ministries over 30 years applying my Spanish translating skills as necessary.
Spanish continues to be a part of my every day life as I converse with my daughters and extended family as well with friends and colleagues in the language.
During my free time I enjoy practicing piano, doing embroidery, pottery, swimming, aerobics, and tai chi exercises.

Hola, yo nací en la Ciudad de México y viví ahí por 27 años.
Durante ese período recibí mi Diploma de Preparatoria en las Ciencias de Salud. También recibí my Certificado de Secretaria Executive Bilingüe en Español e Inglés con Honores en Primer Lugar. Además, trabajé para una compañía bien conocida privada industrializada por cinco años y ejecuté varios puestos bilingües.
Me registré en varios programas de Inglés en Harmon Hall, una escuela de Inglés prestigiosa privada y recibí varios certificados en el idioma Inglés (nivel avanzado) y era un tutor privado de Inglés para un grupo pequeño de estudiantes.
Me mudé a Canadá en 1990 y trabajé para Toronto Community Housing donde los Miembros del Consejo me eligieron ser una traductora en Español. Trabajé para varios ministerios provinciales por más de 30 años aplicando mis habilidades de traducción en Español como fuera necesario.
Español continua siendo una parte de mi vida diaria como converso con mis hijas y familia extendida también con amigos / amigas y colegas en el idioma.
Durante mi tiempo libre continúo practicando piano, haciendo bordado, cerámica, natación, aeróbicos, y ejercicios de tai chi.
