About Bridget
I taught at the college level and in the public schools and have since retired. I have chosen to work with those who struggle with dyslexia and other learning disabilities because help is so hard to come by for them. I have been tutoring special needs individuals from early elementary to college level for 6 years now. My approach is to give the student tools to aid them in gaining the confidence and skills they need to accomplish their goals.

I evaluate my students needs and then provide them with appropriate tools to help them succeed. This can mean working one on one with a first grader struggling to learn how to read or write because of dyslexia or dysgraphia to help the student and parents discover tools that will work for their family. It can mean helping a fourth grader find ways to improve math skills when dyscalculia is an issue or dysgraphia gets in the way of learning how to multiply and divide more than single digits. I can help older students in junior high to college level courses figure out how to approach their classes to get the most from their classes. In many elementary classes, especially, I can also approach the situation as a homework assistant. I have a broad knowledge base that lets me make subjects like science, social studies and math more relevant than just what is offered in the book or assignment. At the secondary and college level, I am able to help with writing as well as a great deal of content.

My first lesson is a meet and greet. I want to meet you and or your child to give you a chance to check me out and see if we are a good fit. If I have enough information, we can do some tutoring the first session. Bring all your questions and content you would like help with.
