About Isabella
Hello!
I will start off by saying that although I have always been passionate about teaching, math was my least favorite subject up until college. As someone who did not quickly and easily understand mathematic concepts, I understand how frustrating it can be, which is why I really aim to create a deep, holistic understanding of topics. I encourage students to ask as many questions as possible -- to explore the 'WHY's' of a challenging, ever-developing subject -- and I do my best to answer them completely, yet simply. Even the most challenging concepts can be broken down into simple components.

My teaching method is to build understanding from the bottom-up -- explaining the mechanisms of a problem, step-by-step, through multiple examples and THOROUGH explanations behind WHY we solve a problem the way we do.
Typically, students will present me with a problem or topic that they have had difficulty solving, and we will work through a solution together & identify any areas of conceptual error. Then, we will debrief the topic with multiple other examples, or the student will present additional problems or questions.
