About Cassandra

Hello and nice to “meet” you! I’m Cassandra and I have always been passionate about helping people. And animals. I just love helping. I used to struggle with studying effectively and I suffered from embarrassingly terrible test anxiety. Over time, I learned how to overcome these challenges successfully, and I find a lot of joy in helping others overcome them, too. I spent over 15 years in EMS, working on a very busy 911 ambulance where I held a CCEMTP certification. During that time, I spent over 7 years as an instructor at a highly regarded college-based EMS program, where I also tutored students on the side. I especially love cardiology, and spent over 4 years teaching a fast-paced and highly successful 3-week ECG course and preparing students for the associated certification exam. While there, I redesigned the program and rebuilt it from the ground up, significantly improving the success rate. I lead an initiative to support students’ success in achieving the certification, improving the pass rate by 65%. This was an incredibly rewarding experience and increased my knowledge of adult learning principles and applying them to achieve passing results. I look forward to meeting with you and helping you get set up for success!

About the lesson

A little bit of my background:
Over 15 years of 911 experience in EMS – I have been in your shoes!

Over 12 years of experience teaching cardiology and EMS courses of all levels – I understand adult learning principles and methods for overcoming a broad range of challenges. 100% pass rate for every student I tutored through the college EMS program.

Certified Cardiographic Technician skilled in teaching ECG/EKG – I spent 4 years teaching a fast-paced and highly successful 3-week ECG program. During that time, I redesigned the program from the ground up and significantly improved the success rate!

The initial lesson will focus on:
Methods for effective and efficient studying and identifying what isn’t working.

Overcoming test anxiety.

Discussing what topics or modalities you struggle with.

My goals for our time together:
Provide the tools to help you to build a strong foundation. This is more than passing a class, you signed up for saving lives!

Increase your confidence. As someone who was known in the past to vomit before an exam, I deeply understand the anxiety that may come with test-taking.

Transform seemingly complex concepts (acid-base balance, anyone?) into easy-to-understand, digestible pieces in a memorable way.
