I'm Kelvin, a professional Mathematics tutor with over 14 years of teaching experience, an MSc in Applied Mathematics, and a BSc in Physics. I currently teach Mathematics at an international school and have successfully helped students from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the UAE, Nigeria, and many other countries achieve their academic goals. About the lesson

My Teaching Methodology

I structure my lessons to be well-organized, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs. Before lessons, I assess the student’s current understanding, learning style, and goals, then plan sessions with clear objectives and a logical progression. Each lesson begins with a brief recap to reinforce prior knowledge, followed by an explanation of new content using simple language, examples, and visual aids where appropriate. I include regular questioning and practice to check understanding and keep students actively involved.

To help students achieve their goals, I break complex topics into manageable steps and link new material to what they already know. I adapt my pace and approach depending on the student, offering extra support where needed and gradually encouraging independence and confidence. I also provide exam-focused strategies when relevant, such as how to approach questions or avoid common mistakes.

Progress is measured through ongoing questioning, short tasks, and review of homework or practice questions, allowing me to identify strengths and areas for improvement. I believe encouragement, patience, and clear feedback are essential for learning, as students learn best when they feel supported, motivated, and confident to ask questions.
