About Suvi
I'm a sophomore at Barnard College of Columbia University in the Upper West Side of Manhattan and am originally from a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts called Brookline. I speak English, Finnish, and French (been learning for 10 years) and have fallen in love with French and Francophone culture. I received my DELF B2 certificate in French 2 years ago, won a gold medal in the National French Exam, and received my high school's 2025 Student Excellence Award in French. In my free time I like to explore the city, bake, and play the flute and piano.

I've been learning French for over 10 years and have spent lots of time in France! I've taught lessons for over a year and love working with students. I strongly believe the key to mastering a language is practice, especially speaking, so I will largely focus on conversation. I'm open to suggestions from students and parents, and will make a study plan for those looking for ways to step up their fluency. We will have goals for each session so that I know what to prepare ahead of time and am happy to take requests to accommodate each students' needs and wishes.
