About Maria

I’m a firm believer in the power of language to unite and illuminate, which is why I am so passionate about education and about my role within the education system. I pride myself on my level of commitment and patience, and have always received excellent feedback from students. As a teacher, the most consistent feedback that I have received from students is that I am “very patient”. To my mind, this is the first and most essential skill of teaching, especially in one-to-one classes. I expect students to invest a lot of energy and attention into the lesson, so why should I contribute any less?

Most of my students are returning students who have taken classes with me before and enjoyed it so much that they decided to come back for more. I hope you will soon be one of them.

About the lesson

Outline:
English has the ability to connect people, cultivate success, and encourage creative ingenuity. I aim to share that gift with my students. With seven years of experience in English education, I’m uniquely placed to tackle issues in second language acquisition. As a teacher, the most consistent feedback that I have received from students is that I am “very patient”. To my mind, this is the first and most essential skill of teaching.

Conversational English lessons:
I design bespoke courses that support students in all areas of language development and focus on improving problem areas specific to you. I have taught students from all over the world and am able to rectify issues with pronunciation and grammar that may be transferring across from your L1. If you'd like to expand your vocabulary so that you never miss a joke around the office or in the pub ever again, get in touch.

IELTS and Trinity exam preparation lessons:
Reading – improve your speed in identifying key information in a variety of materials such as newspaper articles, job descriptions and contracts.
Listening – improve your listening comprehension with targeted exercises that focus on understanding native speakers, idiomatic phrases and local vocabulary.
Writing – practise writing clearly and correctly in a variety of styles, from letter-writing to essay-writing.
Speaking – practise speaking fluently and confidently with an experienced teacher who will not only correct but elevate your command of grammar and pronunciation.
