About Ida
I am a student from Joensuu who becomes a subject teacher in Finnish language and literature (mother tongue). My goal is to graduate in about a year and then invest fully in teaching.
I want to help pupils / students learn the topics and contents of their mother tongue and support their learning. In addition, it would be great if they had new motivation and interest in learning their mother tongue. Studying a difficult thing doesn’t have to be just drilling.
During my internships and as a support teacher, I have gained experience especially from high school students, but high school students are also very welcome to my classes. In addition to my studies, I teach Finnish as a foreign language, so I can also give teaching and support to S2 learners.

I design the content of support teaching according to the needs of the pupil / student. I discuss the situation of each pupil / student with them in person. Parents are also very welcome to join the discussion.
Classes can focus on a single area, such as doing homework, grammar and language maintenance, literacy, producing texts and other written work, or learning concepts. Teaching can also be holistic and support multiple aspects simultaneously. We can re-learn familiar things or focus on what’s coming. We study and practice exactly what the pupil / student needs at any given time.
Suitable methods and materials are also best found as a result of co-operation. Classes can be held in Skype, teams or google meet, for example.
