About Madison
Hi! I’m a senior at the University of Miami majoring in Microbiology & Immunology with a minor in Psychology on the pre-med track. I’m a DaVinci Scholar with a 3.85 GPA and have two years of experience as a university Teaching Assistant. This is also my second year volunteering as a math tutor for students at Ponce de Leon Middle School. I love working with students and creating a comfortable environment where they feel confident asking questions. My goal is to make challenging material feel less overwhelming while helping students build confidence and become more independent learners.

My tutoring approach is hands-on and focused on making sure students truly understand each concept. I first walk students through a problem step-by-step, explaining the reasoning behind each step. Then, I give them a similar problem to solve on their own and ask them to walk me through their thinking. This helps me identify exactly where they may be getting confused and allows us to work through it together. I adapt each lesson to the student’s learning style and pace, and my goal is for students to leave each session feeling more confident and capable of solving problems independently.
