About Wei Yan
Hi, I’m Wei Yan. I’m currently studying Biomedical Sciences, so Biology has been a big part of my academic journey for years. I specialise in GCSE and A-level Biology, and I’m particularly comfortable with topics like cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, and human physiology.
I know that Biology can sometimes feel like a lot of memorisation, but I focus on helping students actually understand the concepts first. Once you understand the logic behind it, exam questions become much easier. I also spend time on exam technique, because many students lose marks not from lack of knowledge, but from how they structure their answers.
I’m patient and structured in my teaching style. I don’t rush topics, and I always make sure you feel comfortable asking questions. My goal is not just to help you pass, but to help you feel confident in the subject.

My lessons are structured but flexible. I usually start by checking what the student already understands, then we go through key concepts clearly with diagrams and examples. After that, we practise exam-style questions together so they learn how to apply knowledge, not just memorise it. I also give short homework tasks to reinforce learning.
