About Alfie
Hi, my name is Alfie and I am currently on a gap year having finished my A-levels in English, History and Politics and am heading off to Exeter University in September to read Politics and Philosophy. I would like to become a teacher after I graduate, and so I have a strong desire to ensure that all students can unlock their full potential during their time at school. I achieved an A* in A-level English Literature, and it has always been a subject which I am very passionate about - I hope to share this passion with you and help you feel ready for your own exam. I also achieved an A* in A-level Politics as well as History so can also help with these subjects if needed.

Having successfully finished my A level exams recently, I am acutely aware just how stressful revising and sitting exams is. My lessons will allow for and create a safe space for my students to feel comfortable to ask any questions or raise any concerns. I will communicate with my students to discover the main areas of weakness or worry, which will then enable me to create a personalised revision and study plan for each lesson. I believe a great way to measure progress is by using active recall tasks at the beginning of each session, enabling both myself and the student to discover what learning they have internalised, whilst also highlighting any areas which could be revisited. My main aim is to make my students feel like they are in a great position ready for their upcoming exams! From my experience studying on a one to one basis is incredibly tiring, so I would endeavour to spend no more than one hour on a lesson.
