About Philip

I am a well-liked and highly-acclaimed primary school teacher. I love working with children whatever their needs, aims, likes or motivations; in fact, building that rapport with a child is the first thing I seek to do; once this is in place, the foundations are there to build a flourishing learning journey. I can teach any subject in the primary curriculum. If you wish to be pushed and extended - I can do it. If you have the need to catch up - I can do it. If you are new to the English language - I can help you. If you just need help with your homework - I can (help you) do it! Your engagement, progress and confidence are always at the forefront of my thinking. My aim is to see you improve across the board and become the successful, confident child you deserve to be.

About the lesson

With over 13 years of experience teaching in primary schools in England and France, I bring a dynamic and engaging approach to tutoring that combines expertise with creativity. My online lessons are interactive and carefully structured to capture children’s attention while developing essential skills. I use open questioning techniques to spark curiosity and encourage children to think more deeply, fostering independence and critical thinking. Technology plays an important role in my sessions, and I make thoughtful use of Zoom and Google Meet's interactive tools—such as breakout rooms, whiteboards, and polls—to keep lessons lively and collaborative. Whether we are exploring literacy, numeracy, or broader cross-curricular topics, I design thought-provoking activities that are both fun and meaningful. My students benefit from clear, constructive feedback, which helps them build confidence and see tangible progress. I am known for my warm, caring, and approachable personality, which allows me to create a supportive learning environment where children feel safe to make mistakes, share ideas, and grow as learners. Parents often comment on the energy and enthusiasm I bring to each session, as well as my ability to tailor lessons to their child’s unique strengths and areas for development. Ultimately, my goal is not only to help children succeed academically but also to inspire a genuine love of learning, so that they approach challenges with curiosity and resilience.
