About Jeffrey
Hello! I am big nerd who loves teaching and helping people discover their passion! I earned a 3.96 undergraduate GPA from CSUS. I currently hold a 4.00 graduate GPA, and am working to complete my Master's degree within the next year or so. My area of study was thermal engineering, however I tend to branch out and learn different fields to expand my mind. I have 2 years of real-world engineering experience in two completely distinct fields: structural engineering and HVAC design. My first job focused on designing "curtain wall" glass systems for industrial and commercial buildings (curtain wall is the really cool glass that you see on most large-scale buildings). I helped design the glass exteriors of many phenomenal structures, such as the LAX Airport. My second engineering job focused on designing HVAC systems. I accrued some invaluable experience designing ventilation systems for hospitals (which have some of the strictest regulations for HVAC design in the United States). After working in the industry for a few years, I decided to go back to my roots in academia. I tutored throughout college, and the satisfaction that I got from helping students succeed was unmatched. For the past 3 years I have been working as a full-time tutor. I do both 1-on-1 private tutoring, and public group tutoring sessions. I like to go above and beyond for my students. If you are one of my students, I view your success as a reflection of my own. I will put the same effort into your learning process that I've put into my own.

I like to begin my lessons with what I call "feeler questions." These are designed to gauge where you are currently at in your course, and which topics you are struggling with.
After I've got an idea of where you stand, I will create lesson plans that focus specifically on your weak points. I create my own problems from scratch in order to do this.
I like to put an emphasis on WHY the stuff you are learning is important. I find that many students struggle not because they don't understand how to solve problems, but rather they are caught up on the why and therefore don't see a point in learning the process.
My lessons are great for 8th-12th grade, as well as college students. I am very versatile, and I know how to get through to students who are not a fan of math and physical sciences.
However, if you are a student who IS interested in these topics, then that's even more of a reason to connect with me. I will go above and beyond what you are currently learning. I will give you insight to the topics you enjoy that you are not getting from your teachers / professors. And lastly, I can offer invaluable insight in regards to degree options if you are struggling to declare a major, as well as possible career trajectories for you based off of your interests.
Let's connect!

Jeff is one of the best tutors I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. He really knows his stuff, and he's not too serious at the same time. He makes teaching fun, while still keeping a level of professionalism. He helped me get through my Physics mechanics course and my calculus I course last semester. I went from hating these courses, to actually really enjoying them thanks to his guidance and insight. I can't say enough nice things about him. 11/10.
Jeff is a very patient and thoughtful educator, and is always willing to help students who struggle learning math and physics. He is incredibly passionate towards math, physics, and education, and it shows in his professionalism and desire to teach. I have been a colleague of Jeff's for years, tutoring math and physics at an undergraduate college level, and he has helped me become a better tutor and educator.
Mr. Jeff is genuinely one of the most helpful, kind, and understanding teacher I’ve ever had. He will never make you feel like you are any less capable if you cannot answer something, and he will always explain the things that you do not understand. If you are looking for someone to truly teach you and make you enjoy learning in the process, Mr.Jeff is the best choice.
