About Abigail
Spending 9 years of experience immersed in the Appalachian tradition has taught me that the voice is the most natural instrument we own. Honestly, most of the tension people carry while singing comes from trying too hard to sound like someone else. With 103 students coached, I use my Bachelor of Arts in Ethnomusicology from UCLA to help you explore head and chest voice, tone and resonance, and genre styling. We work together on rhythm and phrasing, harmony singing, and vocal range extension to build your confidence.
Managing stage fear and mastering vibrato control are central to how I help you find your unique sound. I focus on making the mechanics of breathing control and warm-up exercises feel completely intuitive. You can expect a supportive environment where we work at your own pace to develop your natural gift.

During our first meeting, we sit down and find where your voice feels most at home. I lead you through breathing control and warm up exercises that help you understand your own anatomy. My background in the Appalachian tradition means we prioritize feeling the music before we analyze it. Adults and kids alike benefit from the free access to my breathing and warm-up exercise notes provided after we meet.
Whether you are an advanced learner or a returning learner, we address stage fear and genre styling with care. My degree from UCLA informs how we break down complex techniques into manageable, healthy habits. I want you to feel as comfortable singing in front of others as you do in the shower.
