Teach beginner level of chess especially for kids, Location in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor/ Negeri Sembilan

My 5yo son is very comfortable with Coach Afifah. We once stopped her classes due to time constraints and tried a chess class closer to home, but my son wasn’t as happy. After few months, we came back to Coach Afifah and he’s enjoying chess again!

She’s young, professional, friendly, and soft-spoken, with a great way of keeping young children engaged. Highly recommended! ️

Afifah is my sister, and weve been playing chess together since primary school. She has been more than just a chess partner to me but also someone who has guided me throughout my chess journey.

What i appreciate most about her is her teaching style is that she doesnt simply teach the same thing to everyone. She looks at what you personally lack and focuses on helping you improve in that area. For example, i used to struggle with chess theory because i had too many ideas during a game and struggle to make decisions. Afifah helped me organise my thoughts, trust my ideas, and become more confident in making decisions. She also trained me to improve my concentration and calculation when looking for tactical opportunities.

One thing i really remember is how she used to ask me to update my rating, improvements, and what i had learned every day. It helped me become more disciplined and aware of my own progress. She knows how to turn someone who is easily distracted or lazy like me into a more consistent and motivated learner.

Over the years, her guidance has helped me grow significantly as a chess player. I now represent my university and have also represented the state I previously studied in. Im really grateful to have had someone like Afifah supporting me throughout my chess journey.

I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to improve at chess, especially someone who wants a teacher who will understand their weaknesses, encourage their ideas, and genuinely follow their progress.
