Through the communicative approach it is intended to train the learner for a real communication - not only in the oral aspect, but also in the written one - with other speakers of the Spanish Language; For this purpose, authentic texts, recordings and materials are often used in the instructional process and activities are carried out that attempt to faithfully imitate the reality outside the classroom. Through this method communication is not a single product, but rather a process, which is carried out for a specific purpose, between specific subjects, in a specific situation. Therefore, it is not enough to assimilate a cluster of data - vocabulary, rules, functions ...-; It is also essential that the student learn to use this knowledge to negotiate meaning. For this, the student must participate in real tasks, in which the language is a means to an end (for example, check a plane schedule to see if there is a direct flight from Bogotá to Singapore, and not only information to fill with gaps or spaces with mechanical methods.
