My tutoring is designed for high school and first-year college students. I use a student led, question based teaching method that emphasizes understanding over simple memorization. A typical tutoring session begins with diagnosing gaps in knowledge (where the student starts to do questions wrong or if they don’t know how to do the questions), then working through problems collaboratively (doing questions together while I provide explanations, ask questions to gauge understanding, and answer any of their questions), then independent practice to ensure they understand the material. What sets me apart is my strong content mastery, patience, and experience explaining math clearly to learners with diverse backgrounds through my time tutoring English learners.
