About Tammie

I hold a MMus Music Performance degree from the Curtis Institute of Music and have spent 7 years working in studios and on concert stages. You will find my teaching style direct and focused on the technical requirements of the instrument.

"Piano playing is rarely as intuitive as students hope when they first sit at the keyboard. Most people underestimate the amount of physical coordination required for proper dynamics and expression or correct posture and hand position.
I use a diagnostic playing assessment before we set a learning plan for rhythm and timing or music theory. We will cover ear training and memorization techniques to build a solid foundation. Pop and contemporary styles are explored once the basics are mastered.
My 8.0 rating reflects a commitment to 8.0 standards of precision. I look forward to hearing your growth."
