About Ayesha
My name is Ayesha. I was born in Karachi, Pakistan, raised in the Sultanate of Oman, lived in New York and Al-Ain (suburb of Abu Dhabi/UAE), and finally moved to Dallas two years ago from Houston.
I am a proud alumna of New York City College of Technology. I graduated as a Valedictorian in 2009 with a BS degree in Communication Design and Graphic Arts. I enjoyed working as a
graphic designer for almost 7 years and then decided to become an educator. I am certified as an Elementary Core-EC 6, ESL-EC12, and Special Education EC-12 teacher. I worked as a substitute teacher for Katy ISD and Plano ISD. I also taught as a 5th-grade Homeroom teacher for a year and a half at an elementary school. I taught ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Technology.
My pedagogy is simple. I believe every child can excel; it is the definition of success that
varies. As an educator, I want my students to grow as individuals with strong character,
educated minds, and dynamic demeanor so they can become productive members of the
community and of humanity at large.
I use mathematical tools and visuals, modeling, and clear and precise instructions to guide my students in finding mathematical solutions. It all makes more sense when mathematical concepts are connected to real-life situations. And that is what I love to do.
I love teaching Science. I believe curiosity leads to exploration through guided investigation and active imagination.
