About Zoha

My goal as a tutor is to create a space where kids feel safe and excited to learn. From my current experience as a teacher assistant under LAUSD, I’ve seen firsthand how much a calm and patient presence can change a student’s entire attitude toward a difficult subject. I can bring that kind of energy to every session and help break down big, intimidating concepts into small steps that make sense to a child. A typical lesson with me starts with a quick confidence/energy booster to get us moving, which allows for a smooth transition into the task at hand. What sets me apart is that I can adapt my style to fit your child's personality, turning 'I can't do this' into 'I actually get it!' Whether it’s helping an elementary student find their footing or guiding a high schooler through a tough project, I’m here to make sure they walk away not just with the work done, but with the confidence to keep going.

About the lesson

I’m a recent psych graduate and I’ve been looking for a way to broaden my expertise in the educational department. A little bit about me is I love to draw and paint and most importantly work with kids. I believe a lot of my confidence in being a tutor comes from my relevant experience as a teacher assistant. Because I’ve held this current position for 7+ years I am able to keep up with current curriculum and expectations. I see it firsthand. My time in schools has taught me that the most important thing is creating a calm and patient environment where kids don't feel judged for making mistakes. I’ve seen how much a student’s confidence grows when they have someone steady in their corner, and my goal is to bring that same energy to our sessions to make learning feel a lot less overwhelming.

I'm happy to offer a free 30-minute introductory session so we can see if we’re a good match. It’s a great, low-pressure way for us to get to know each other, chat about your goals, and make sure you feel comfortable with my teaching style. Once we’ve found our rhythm and set some clear expectations, we can easily plan out longer or more frequent sessions that fit your schedule.
