About Sharmaine
I hold an MA in Audiovisual Translation and have over nine years of professional experience as a multilingual language specialist. My background includes translation, audiovisual translation, website localization, transcription, social media management, content writing and editing, as well as AI and machine learning training. I am a native English speaker and fluent in Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Filipino, with beginner-level proficiency in Korean.
Teaching languages is something I truly enjoy. I believe that learning another language can broaden your horizons and allow you to connect with people from different backgrounds and cultures. My goal is to help students gain the skills and confidence to communicate effectively and enjoy the learning process.

My lessons are student-centered, engaging, and tailored to each learner's goals, level, and learning style. Whether you are preparing for exams, improving your grammar, expanding your vocabulary, or building confidence in speaking, I adapt each lesson to your needs. For students following a school or exam syllabus, we can focus on specific topics or chapters, strengthening grammar and vocabulary while developing practical communication skills through interactive speaking activities. My aim is to create a supportive learning environment that helps students progress with confidence and achieve their language goals. All lessons are one hour long and available online via Zoom or Google Meet.
My teaching experience includes working at summer camps in France, Spain, and Italy, teaching English online to Chinese learners of all ages, and tutoring adult French learners in Belgium through Serve the City Brussels. I have also taught Junior Cycle Spanish and B1/B2 French through First Tutors Ireland.
