About Jang B

Hello! I'm Jang, a **BC-certified independent school educator and experienced STEM instructor** based in Surrey, British Columbia.

I hold a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and have a professional background in software development. I currently teach students from Grades 2–12, helping them develop strong problem-solving, logical reasoning, and mathematical thinking skills.

I am passionate about helping **elementary students (Grades 1–7) build confidence in Mathematics**. I believe every child can succeed in math with the right guidance, encouragement, and teaching approach.

My teaching style is friendly, patient, and interactive. I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps, using practical examples and engaging activities. I adapt my lessons to each student's learning pace, whether they need extra support with the basics or want to strengthen their existing skills.

**My goal is simple: to make mathematics less intimidating, more enjoyable, and easier to understand.**

About the lesson

Conceptual Understanding Over Rote Memorization: Rather than simply teaching formulas to plug and chug, I focus on why mathematical rules work. Understanding the foundational logic prevents students from getting lost when question formats change on exams.Lessons are interactive and conversational. I regularly ask students to explain steps back to me, which uncovers any hidden knowledge gaps before we move forward.
