About Martin
I am an ex-teacher. MS in Applied Math CSULB, BA physics and math from UC Berkeley. I have taught at all levels and helped many students achieve mastery and build confidence. I've worked in the Bay Area and Hermosa Beach as a tutor and teacher through Compass Prep and Fusion Academy.
I am adept in both understanding by design curricula and accelerated learning programs.

I will structure a lesson around what your goals are. My teaching style is very example based and uses the Socratic method. We will discuss solution methods together as well as tips and tricks. Then, you'll work problems with my guidance. I believe that good grades and understanding only come by doing. It's the best way to have the confidence in yourself come test time! I'm also a firm believer in using additional teaching tools such as interactive labs and software to help build intuition.
