About Vanda

I love math! For me, doing math is like solving a puzzle. There is always a way to find the answer; sometimes, we just need to look at the problem differently.

Throughout my daughters' lives, I have always helped them succeed in math, especially when learning became more challenging during virtual school. That experience, along with my own love for mathematics, strengthened my passion for helping students understand math instead of simply memorizing steps.

I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics Education and am a Georgia-certified Math teacher for grades 6–12. I am also Gifted Certified and currently teach at the high school level.

I believe everyone has their own way of learning. If you let me, it will be my mission to find the approach that works best for you. My goal is to make math less intimidating, build your confidence, and help you realize that math is not impossible—it just needs to be understood!

About the lesson

Math is not impossible—it just needs to be understood!

Every student learns differently. As a math tutor and certified teacher, my goal is to figure out how each student learns best and help them understand math in a way that makes sense to them.

I can help students with Pre-Algebra, Algebra: Concepts & Connections I, and Algebra: Concepts & Connections II, whether they need support with homework, want to strengthen their understanding of difficult concepts, prepare for an assessment, or simply become more confident in math.

I am a Georgia-certified Mathematics teacher for grades 6–12, Gifted Certified, and a 2026 NSF Research Experience for Teachers (RET) participant. My background in mathematics, engineering, and classroom teaching allows me to connect math to real-world situations and explain concepts in different ways until we find the approach that works for the student.

Tutoring is available online or in person, depending on what works best for the learner.

My goal is simple: help students understand the math—not just memorize the steps.
