About Mustafa
I am a recent psychobiology graduate of UCLA, and was a head undergraduate assistant at UCLA for physics and chemistry, as well as a tutor for a North Hollywood community as part of Kids Korner, a community service group at UCLA. I specialize in test prep and test strategies, but I have tutored others in English and algebra previously as well. My experiences at UCLA as an undergraduate assistant have given me much insight into the cornerstones of tutoring, thanks to the pedagogy research I have been exposed to while at UCLA.

My philosophy is to focus on the process of learning, rather than the answer itself. I believe that a student will be more successful if we dive deep into their thought process and uncover the way they think about a concept, rather than measuring success by getting to the right answer. My experiences as a tutor at UCLA have taught me to facilitate students' understanding of a concept through their own intelligence, rather than simply giving them the answer to a problem. Furthermore, I will never make my students feel as if getting the right answer is the be-all and end-all of our work. Instead, I will encourage and praise them for engaging the problems they face on a deeper level.
