About Sam

Hey there, I'm Sam and I'm an undergraduate Psychology student. I have studied English language and literature, pursuing literature as an A-Level subject and achieving a grade B, while attaining an A and B and GCSE English exams. in these years of studying, and previous experiences of tutoring, I've found that English is essential to all academic studies, where I've been able to apply my knowledge of it to a variety of subjects. I hope, in working as an online English tutor, I'll be able to apply this knowledge of mine to KS3 and GCSE students. In studying English language and literature in-depth throughout my life, and continuing to find an interest in English as both a language and a revolutionary aspect of the literary world, I take great care when imparting my knowledge to others as a tutor. In doing so, I hold professionalism during my lessons that reinforce both informal and professional environments. Here, my students can focus and concentrate, while also being aware that they can turn to me, as their tutor, for any support or guidance.

About the lesson

My lessons would be around 60 minutes and would include a collaboration of educational videos and independent activities aimed at each student's area of focus. Literature studies would include page-by-page annotating and analysis, while all studies would reinforce crucial English terminology for their exams and lessons in school. During my lessons, I find that the most efficient teaching environments promote a calming and relaxed atmosphere and I would promote this in my lessons to create a safe space. Therefore, learning will be succeeded in a less forceful and demanding way to the student. No matter what a student is struggling with in their lesson, I will find it a detrimental priority to help them, hence building their confidence and academic skills. A lesson has gone well for me if the student has learnt things which they can then apply to their studies in school, and even in future exams. As a tutor, I regard this as a great accomplishment for both myself and the student!
