About Stella
My name is Stella and I am a first-year undergraduate student at UC Berkeley. I'm from northeast Los Angeles, where I attended a public high school and earned my IB Diploma. I'm currently studying political science, with a minor in politics, philosophy, and law. I've tutored students at all levels and know that communication is key in understanding tricky concepts. I'm well-versed in study techniques and am quite familiar with the curriculum of many AP and IB classes. My goal as a tutor is to help students not only improve their academic performance but also build confidence in their abilities. I hope to practice skills and strategies that they can use throughout their lives.

I use a clear and paced step-by-step approach to break down difficult concepts into simple, manageable parts. I aim to tailor lessons to each student's learning pace/personal needs and focus on building confidence as well as skills. A typical lesson plan may look something like this: - Quick review (5 minutes) - Explanation of today’s concept (with examples) (20 minutes) - Guided practice together (20 minutes) - Independent practice with support (10 minutes) - Summary and questions (5 minutes) I offer lessons for middle and high school students (grades 6–12) in all levels of Math and English, tailored to their individual needs.
