About Garima
Hiya, I’m Garima! I’m a Data Science graduate from the University of Bristol.
I’ve always enjoyed Maths and Science, and throughout my academic journey I've really enjoyed understanding the logic behind concepts rather than simply memorising them. I’d now love to use that background to help younger students feel more comfortable and confident with these subjects.
During uni, I've been with Google Developer Student Clubs, where I led a community of over 50 students, mentored junior students and helped deliver technical workshops and practical sessions. This gave me experience explaining concepts to people with different levels of understanding and finding simpler ways to approach something when they were struggling.
As a person I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, including the ones they might be hesitant to ask in a classroom. I’m also happy to prepare around the topics a student is currently studying so that our lessons are relevant to their individual needs and goals.

I believe Maths and Science become much easier when you understand the reasoning behind them rather than simply memorising formulae and answers. My lessons will focus on breaking concepts down into simpler steps, working through examples together, and gradually building confidence through practice.
I tailor lessons to each student's level and pace. We can focus on understanding difficult topics, revising schoolwork, practising questions, preparing for assessments, or strengthening areas where the student feels less confident. A typical lesson would be around 60 minutes, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions without feeling pressured.
I have an MSc in Data Science from the University of Bristol and a BTech in Computer Science specialising in AI and Machine Learning. I also have experience mentoring junior students and delivering technical workshops and practical sessions through Google Developer Student Clubs.
My Maths and Science lessons are suitable for primary, KS3 and GCSE-level students. I am happy to revise the relevant curriculum and prepare specifically for the topics each student is currently studying.
