About Alec
Hi! I would like to help you with AP Calculus or AP Statistics. I majored in Statistics & Data Science with a minor in Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. With an undergraduate GPA of 3.85/4.00 and coursework spanning calculus, linear algebra, physics, and statistics, I hope that my excellent quantitative abilities can be of aid.

As a student, I've always been interested in the way my teachers and professors deliberately made decisions to better teach the material of their classes. I noticed that when answering questions, the best professors were always able to correctly infer the gap in the student's understanding and start their explanations accordingly, even when the students themselves did not specify exactly what they knew and didn't know. As a tutor, I hope to leverage my strong listening skills and mathematical intuition to identify exactly what my students are struggling with, honing in on knowledge gaps to ensure that they can build a solid foundation to solve problems with in the future. By forming connections between the way a student was taught something and my own mastery of the subject, I help students form robust and long-lasting mental models that they won't forget.
