About Gregory

Hi! I'm a university student studying Physics at York University, with a strong passion for mathematics, science, and helping others understand challenging concepts.

I've always enjoyed mathematics and physics, especially the process of breaking down complicated problems and understanding the reasoning behind them. I believe that anyone can improve their mathematical abilities with the right explanations, consistent practice, and a learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions.

As someone studying physics at the university level, I understand how frustrating it can be when a concept doesn't immediately make sense. I also know how rewarding it feels when everything finally clicks. My goal is to help students experience that same sense of accomplishment.

I take a patient, structured, and encouraging approach to tutoring. I recognize that every student learns differently, and I'm committed to adapting my teaching style to their individual needs. Whether we're reviewing the fundamentals, working through difficult homework problems, or preparing for an upcoming exam, I want students to feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their abilities.

Above all, I want my students to leave each lesson not only knowing how to solve a problem, but understanding why the solution works. I believe that building this foundation is the key to lasting success in mathematics and physics.

I'm currently studying Physics in University, and my approach to tutoring is based on helping students genuinely understand what they're learning rather than simply memorizing formulas or following steps without knowing why they work.

I believe that one of the biggest challenges in math and physics is that students are often taught how to solve a problem without fully understanding the reasoning behind it. I like to break difficult concepts into smaller, more manageable parts and explain how they connect to things the student already understands.

My lessons are tailored to each student's needs. I typically start by discussing what they're currently learning and identifying any areas they're struggling with. From there, I'll explain the underlying concepts, work through an example with them, and then have them attempt similar problems independently. I think it's important that students develop the confidence to solve problems themselves rather than relying on someone to guide them through every step.

What sets me apart is my interest in the reasoning behind mathematics and physics. I enjoy exploring why equations work, where they come from, and how different concepts connect. I also understand that not everyone learns the same way, so I'm happy to adjust my explanations, pace, and teaching methods until something makes sense.

I offer online tutoring for high school students in Grades 9–12, including mathematics, Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, and Physics. Whether you're struggling with the fundamentals, preparing for a test, or looking to improve your overall understanding, my goal is to help you become more comfortable and independent when approaching challenging problems.
