About Herschel

I'm Herschel Foster, a Calgary-based engineer with over 25 years of experience in the international oil and gas industry. I have held Senior and Lead Drilling Engineer roles with Saudi Aramco, Shell, Maersk Oil and Husky Energy. I hold a B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer and Electrical Engineering from the University of the West Indies (1987), I hold three U.S. patents, co-authored an SPE paper, and was previously a registered professional engineer in Alberta. I now tutor university students in mathematics, physics and engineering — online anywhere, and in person in Calgary.

About the lesson

I'm a Calgary-based engineer with over 25 years in international oil and gas — Senior and Lead Drilling Engineer roles with Saudi Aramco, Shell, Maersk Oil and Husky Energy, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer and Electrical Engineering (University of the West Indies, 1987). I hold three U.S. patents, co-authored an SPE paper, and was previously a registered professional engineer in Alberta. I tutor university students in calculus, linear algebra, physics, engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics) and petroleum/drilling engineering topics. Sessions start from your course material and problem sets; we work problems together until the method clicks, then finish with exam-style questions and a teach-back check so it sticks. Online lessons anywhere; in person in Calgary also possible.
