About German

I have a PhD. in chemistry and a Specialization in Bioinformatics. I've been doing research in the chemistry and biochemistry fields for almost 19 years now. I have been teaching at college and university levels for the last 15 years in different countries and to students from different careers. In Canada, I've been part of the teaching staff in institutions like Dawson College, John Abbott College and Concordia University. However, I've also tutored students from Champlain College and Marianopolis.
Also a huge fan of science fiction, horror, and fantasy books! There's chemistry there too :)

About the lesson

My teaching methods depend on, and are adapted to, the student, the requirements of the course, the time available, and the objectives pursued. The methodology varies from focusing on solving exercises and problems to a full course.
A typical "reinforcement" class will start by discussing with the student which topics were covered in their regular classes and then I will spend 10 to 20 minutes revisiting those topics. The next 40 to 30 minutes will be devoted to solving exercises, problems, or questions related to those topics. Finally, in the last 10 minutes, the student will have to put into practice what they learned in a short diagnostic quiz.
I have plenty of materials to support the learning process, including tests, exercises, books, articles, videos, etc.
I like to train the analytical and inductive reasoning capacities of my students. I give them autonomy and encourage them to take an active role in their learning process, but at the same time, I guide them and help them to establish a study method suitable to their needs.
My motto is that "Learning doesn’t need to be a boring and obnoxious process!"
